You can have the ready made jams from the store. But these jams are made on the commercial levels and have different kinds of the artificial flavors and colors. It means you do not have the thing which you really need to it. For that you can make the plum jam on your own and here I am going to guide you as regarding the plum jam recipe. Hope you will try it and even you can use it in different desserts.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup water
  • 3 pounds firm plums
  • 7 ½ cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 pack commercial pectin, 3 ounce

Method

Blackberry Jam Recipe
  • First of all take the plums and peel them. After this cut them into eight pieces and must discard the seeds.
  • Now take a big non-aluminum stockpot and just add water, plums and lemon juice in it.
  • You have to cook the mixture on the medium high heat. But make it sure that you stir the mixture often otherwise it can stick from the bottom. You have to stir until you see it boiling. If you see it boiling then just lowers down the flame and leaves it to cook and simmer for 10 minutes and just cover the stockpot. You have to stir occasionally until you get the softness in the fruit.
  • You have to cook it until you get the quantity of the material about 4 ½ cups.
  •  Now you can add the sugar and just high up the flam so that it can be boiled again and stir constantly.
  • Add pectin and again you have to boil it and just keep on stirring for another one minute. Remove the jam from the heat and leave it for a while also remove the foam if there is any on the surface.
  • Now you can preserve it in sterilized bottle.
